Mountain Canopy

Skiing or Boarding up steep alpine terrain using wind and sail is an adventure activity called UpSkiing (or UpBoarding).  The equipment differs from other more common traction kites because it is designed specifically for alpine ascent.  The uesable wind speed range is huge, from 6-8 mph to (but not recommended) 60 mph. The canopy, instead of a wing, is close in front and usually offset to one side instead of 30 meters away and above. The system quickly stuffs for descent but in most cases it is the ascent that is the most fun.
